Stanmore Jafferys will, Inshallah, be hosting the first ever Basketball Tournament of this kind, to be held on this side of the pond. Under the tutelage of our Basketball Coordinator, Reza Ladak, the sport has grown in popularity at Stanmore Jafferys, with sessions held every Friday evening at Avanti House in Stanmore and attended by both our youth and adult members.
Therefore, the time was ripe to host a tournament, which will be a 3v3 affair, to be held on Saturday 17th February at the St. Helens Sport Centre in Northwood from 9am, aptly on the same weekend as the NBA All-Star Game is due to take place.
The aim of the tournament is naturally to provide a competitive platform for players to showcase their talent, build the spirit of brotherhood and bring communities together. The tournament also serves a greater purpose with all proceeds going towards the WF AID Emergency Appeal in Gaza. We will also be raising funds on the day, and members can also donate to this cause via the MySadaqa link below:

To add to the day, we will also be holding a 3pt Shootout Competition. To take part in our 3 pt Contest, head over to our fundraising page using the link above and make a donation to the £5 3pt Contest to allow us to capture your name and details.
We encourage all our Gents Members to come down on the day to spectate and take in the talent that will be on show. Please also register to participate in the 3pt Shootout – all proceeds will go towards the Gaza appeal.
