Cricket on the Front Foot

After a very successful 2021 where the organizing committee, together with the community interest and support revived SJ Cricket, the organising committee felt it was our duty to take this trust and develop the sport for 2022.

To help strengthen the SJ cricket team, we are delighted to announce that Zaffar Mukhtar and Mohamed Vasi Sheikh have agreed to join the team and thus bring their vast  experience on board.

Zaffar brings a passion for cricket that is infectious. He has a drive to improve the skill and confidence in our youth team, which has been evident throughout the years. Last year, at the cricket camp we held, Zaffar was at the forefront alongside coach Sohail, teaching the youths about the intricacies of the game we love.

Mohamed Vasi comes with a lot of experience with regards to administrating and a vast contact network. Having held positions at Wycombe House Cricket Club, Mohamed Vasi skills in navigating through the various loops that being part of the Middlesex Cricket system brings, will be invaluable to our club.

Both additions to the team will strengthen us, and we are grateful that they have agreed to join the team and thus make a difference to our cricket club.

Our plans for this Summer have started and we would like to share with you some of the highlights we are working on.

May 2022- Weekend tour to Edinburgh

June 2022- Cricket Bonanza

July 2022- Cricket Camp.

Our Indoor nets have started, and will continue until Mid March. Once the holy month of Ramadhan is over, our season will start with outdoor nets and a number of internal friendly games. This will be similar to how we organised matches last season.

We plan on organising more external matches to increase the competitive nature of our games.

Please see below the poster with details of our Indoor Nets.

Later this month, we will be sending out details of the May Cricket Tour to Edinburgh.

On a final note, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all, as without your participation, this would not be possible.
