Naqi Rizvi won the bronze medal at the Visually Impaired World Tennis Championships in Spain.

After winning the opening day matches 6-4 and 6-3 Naqi followed up with another 2 wins the following day, taking him through to the last eight.

Following a quarter-final 6-1 victory, Naqi (ranked world no. 5) was set to face the world number 2 in the semi-finals, where unfortunately the latter managed to reach the finals.

However, Naqi’s last game in the 3rd / 4th play-off ended with a 6-3 victory and a very well deserved bronze medal, achieving an even better result than last year’s 4th place.

We are looking forward to Naqi’s presence, participation and inspirational talk at the SJRS Festival of Rackets on 6 and 7 July.
