This year SJ has introduced a distinct tiering system to ensure a good competitive level of play for all padel players who attend the SJ sessions. Below are the separate tiers and their corresponding leads:
Junior Padel Coordinator: Ali Moledina
– Open to all SJ boys between the ages of 10 to 16 years old.
– First taster sessions to be held this Sunday 19th April at 1700 and 1800.
Social Level Lead: Mohamed Mishal
– Open to all players over 16 years old of all abilities.
– Held on specific Wednesdays (8.30pm to 10pm), please see the group description for exact dates.
– Link for sign-up always released on Sunday evening on the main SJ Padel group.
Intermediate Level Lead: Kumayl Nazerali
– Minimum entry requirement for players with a genuine Playtomic rating > 3.0 and/or past performance at SJ tournaments.
– Held on specific Wednesdays (8.30pm to 10pm), please see the group description for exact dates.
– Link for sign-up always released on Sunday evening on the specific Intermediate level group.
Pre-Advanced and Advanced Level: Hussein Abdulla
– Minimum entry requirement for players with a genuine Playtomic rating > 4.0 and/or past performance at SJ tournaments.
– Held on specific Sundays (5pm to 7pm), please see the group description for exact dates.
Players can move up and down between levels based on the criteria mentioned above as well as commitment shown to ongoing SJ sessions.
Playtomic Levels
For those that would like to start building their Playtomic rating it is free to sign up by downloading the app or visiting https://playtomic.com/ and creating your profile. Please note only genuine Playtomic ratings will be considered which means a history of at least 10 matches against different opponents of varying levels must be demonstrated to ensure the Playtomic algorithm has had a chance to adjust correctly to your true skill level.
