Stanmore Jafferys are extremely excited to announce the appointment of a new Sportshead in Fitness, after Mahmood Mawjee stepped down, following 4 years of tremendous service. Mahmood’s dedication in bringing up fitness levels of the membership and the innovative practice and engagement brought during his tenure is fondly appreciated. He has laid down the foundations for Fitness to advance, and we wish him the very best for the future.
Admittedly, transitions such as this can be a boon for the club, as we seek new appointments and bring fresh faces and ways of doing things in leadership. Our latest addition, is the youngest Sportshead this club has ever had. He runs an active Instagram channel, chronicling his ideas and fitness activities. He is a son of this club, having been involved in football, volleyball, table tennis and swimming from a young age. He cites Cristiano Ronaldo as a fitness role model and has ideas around introducing fitness tournaments at MAMT and international festivals.
When pressed around fitness programmes, it was gladdening to find no generic, cookie-cutter solutions. Our new head, will be looking to itemise and personalise for each member. He urges interested participants to register their interest and will be revealing plans for the future on the group.
Can you guess who the new head is? No? It’s none other than Ilyas Govani aka Govinchy aka SJ’s response to Mir Hassan Mir. If Ilyas’s voice is anything like his plans for Fitness, we will be in for quite something. Ilyas comes into role with a flurry of experience and has already been involved in developing fitness activities and insights for the KSIMC of London and The Muslim Vibe YouTube channels. We welcome Ilyas with open arms and very much look forward to working with him. All interested persons are encouraged to get on board.
