As we embark upon The Next Phase for SJ Football and plan for the 2024/2025 season, the new core team has had the opportunity to conduct a full review of SJFC youth football over the last couple of years. Our vision, as already outlined, is to further develop the standard of football for the club and create a new legacy of players and teams that can represent StanmoreJafferys worldwide in the years to come.
As part of our focus to provide the best support to our youth players in the league and other tournaments, a shift from astro pitch training to grass pitch training is absolutely necessary. Therefore after much consideration and hard work from the SJFC team, we are pleased to announce Step 1 of this vision –
A NEW VENUE FOR SJFC SUNDAY TRAINING !
Venue: Bannister Outdoor Sports Centre, Uxbridge Road, Harrow, HA3 6SW
Distance: Only a 10min drive from Northwood School (Madressa)
Facilities:
Grass pitches (Various sizes)
3G Outdoor Astro Pitch
Car parking on site
We are very excited at the prospects of this new venue, which has new and well kept pitches, and will offer our club the potential for development and further growth in the seasons ahead.
Our training sessions will remain mostly unchanged as follows –
Price: £4.50
Training Day: Sundays
Start time: 2.30pm
However there will be a new finish time –
Finish Time: 4.15pm
The full calendar of training sessions will be released in due course to parents so they can plan accordingly.
As part of our focus to provide the best support to our youth players in the league and other tournaments, Tiers 4 and above (this would be from U11 age group and school year 6 in September 2024) will be training on grass pitches. We therefore humbly request the parents to ensure that boys in Tiers 4 and above will have football boots with (non-metal) studs in preparation for the start of the new season.
Our club’s migration from Ruislip Goals to The Hive and then The Hive to Harefield Academy were all met with incredible support from parents, coaches and players. This facilitated a smooth transition for us all and I am confident that we can rely on your support and cooperation once again to mark yet another milestone for SJFC.
I’d like to finish by congratulating our SJFC Over 40s Champions of the Al Wahda 2024 tournament in Toronto! What an incredible achievement to win the tournament via an unbeaten run of matches and add to the cabinet of silverware! This should serve as inspiration to our youth players for Inshallah many more trophies to follow…
