Naqi Rizvi is an engineer by qualification, a banker by profession, a sportsman by passion and also a public speaker. He considers sports to be a huge part of his life and takes part in several sports with one of the main being tennis.

Being completely blind has not deterred him from living life to the fullest and Naqi has been playing Visually Impaired Tennis for just over 3 years.

With his game improving significantly over time, Naqi participated at the World Championships of Blind Tennis in Ireland in 2018  where he came 4th.

This year’s World Championships are taking place in Spain with 19 people in his category, in which he is currently ranked as World number 5. Naqi is really excited about the prospect of playing again and hopes to come back victorious.

Naqi will be sporting the SJRS kit at the World Championships and will be performing  an exhibition match and an inspiration talk at the SJRS Festival of Rackets on 6 and 7 July this year. Watch this space for further details.

SJRS are delighted with this partnership and hope it will inspire our community members with special needs to take up the challenge of playing racket sports.

SJ has contributed toward his participation with partial funding both last year as well as this year and Naqi is grateful for that.

Naqi is also a passionate public speaker and we would like to share one of his Ted Talks from 2016 on the subject Losing Sight Without Losing Vision | Naqi Haider Rizvi | TEDxUCL
