SJ Running – COVID update

290

Dear SJ Runners

We are pleased to say that from Wednesday 2 December outdoor activities can once again take place in London (Tier 2) including group runs. These runs will be subject to a maximum of 6 runners. As before, all our runs will need to adhere to the guidance we previously set out and this will be set out at the time of advertising future runs.

Please remember that the current national restrictions continue to apply until 2 December

PREVIOUS UPDATE

Dear SJ Runners

As you are fully aware, new national restrictions have come into place across England from 5 November and are due to last for a month.

In light of the new government guidelines and those provided by England Athletics all SJ Running activities have been suspended until further notice.

As part of our activities we have a group of 10 runners due to undertake a run from Stanmore to Marble Arch on 13 December. Given the ever fluid situation it is difficult to predict where we will be when the current restrictions expire. We will make a call on this run closer to the time.

However, the new guidelines announced do encourage you to undertake outdoor exercise, either by yourself, with another member of your household or one other person from another household (with appropriate social distancing). We would therefore encourage those that have signed up for the Marble Arch run to continue with their individual training plans.

As an individual outdoor sport, we are in a fortunate position where members can continue to undertake running. Remember to read our guide on how to stay safe during the winter period
