Little did the table tennis champions of Al Haadi Youth & SJ Table tennis Youth know what shock awaited them in the table tennis knockout tournament on Friday 8th April as part of our social baraza.
SJ seniors had 4 entries going in as underdogs. But soon crowds gathered around the tables to witness the youth champs being eliminated in singles by seniors Hassan Merali & Hasnen Bhimji. Hassan lost narrowly in the semis whilst Hasnen marched on to the finals. The magic of attack produced by Hasnen in the finals gifted him the singles title to the amazement of all. His opponent was destroyed in straight sets.
