On Sunday, 24 November, our SJFA coaches attended a Middlesex FA Mentoring Session at Harefield Academy as part of our continuous learning journey.
Every coach, parent and volunteer involved with the development of young players wants to do the best they can. In order to achieve this key objective the coaches spend time preparing for their sessions with a focus on:-
- making sure the sessions are enjoyable, exciting and very active
- getting the boys running, chasing, dodging, jumping, twisting and turning
- playing small sided games of different numbers and on pitches of different sizes
- create that something so special that the players cannot wait for the next session
The mentoring session on Sunday reinforced the great work they do as well as providing further guidance to our coaches on good session planning to ensure we get the best out of our boys of all abilities.
