Special Refugee Iftar and Film Screening – 18 May 2019, 6pm to 11.30pm

Please join us on the 18 May 2019 for a Special Evening in Support of Refugees.

We will be screening the award-winning film A Syrian Love Story, which depicts the real-life journey of a family forced to flee Syria. It’s a deeply moving account of a Syrian couple torn apart by political struggle as they take their family to Lebanon, before finding sanctuary in France.

In many ways it’s a microcosm of the global refugee crisis. It received many 5-star reviews from critics, including in the Guardian.

After the film, we will hear from some of the refugee families we support at Sufra – their journeys and struggles – as well as from professionals that help refugee families experiencing crisis.

After sunset, a traditional Iftar meal will be served for all to share with our refugee families.

Tickets are only £20 each and all the money raised will go directly to support refugees and asylum seekers.
