On Tuesday 31st May, the SJFC Adults first team had their awards ceremony at Hujjat Stanmore. The event was a celebration of a successful first complete season for the adults first team as the previous 2 seasons were disrupted with COVID.
Some of the achievements this year included a cup run which saw the team knock out a team 2 divisions above them, a 5 game winning streak, being able to watch our games back with the VEO camera and many more.
The team was blessed with a few words by SJ chair Shaneabbas Merali, along with SJFC chairman Nazir Rajwani and SJFC Adults head ‘Uncle’ Mohammed Valjy.
MohammedMehdi Karim was the recipient of the coaches player of the year as selected by coach Abrar Mahay, after a stellar year in the heart of the defence.
The players player of the year was Yaseen Valjy who narrowly beat out Mahdi Hemraj in the players vote. Yaseen was the teams top scorer and was a consistent performer throughout the year.
