The new 2024-2025 SJFC season is due to begin in just over two weeks!
As many of you are already aware, we are currently over subscribed as a football club for the upcoming season. We have been working hard over the summer break on a number of changes to accommodate this increased demand. These changes are listed as a summary here, but also explained in more detail further below:

1. RECRUITMENT OF NEW COACHES
The committee has recruited 16 new and talented young coaches from within the community who will be leading the tiers from September onwards. Their profiles will soon be available via our Instagram page so be sure to check it out when released! Not only have these coaches been receiving training courses from the FA on safeguarding, first aid and the latest version of FA level 1, but many of them are also from the SJ adults football first team.
2. IMPLEMENTATION OF BLOCK BOOKING PROCEDURE
- Parents will receive an email with the link to make their block booking and payment in advance (the first block is for 8 weeks).
- The cost of the sessions remains the same at £4.50 each
- Total cost therefore of first block of 8 sessions = £36
- Players that have signed up to the full block will have priority for their place at Sunday training each week.
- Each week parents that have made their block booking MUST confirm availability for the training session ahead.
- Without confirmation of planned attendance for the training session in the week ahead, this priority place will be forfeited for that week and offered to the pay as you go sign ups.
- Block booking payments, or parts thereof are non-refundable

PAY AS YOU GO WEEKLY SIGN UP WILL STILL BE AVAILABLE, BUT ONLY AFTER PRIORITY SIGN UPS
- Parents that choose not to sign up for the block booking can still sign up on a weekly basis but only after the block booking priority places have confirmed their attendance/absence or forfeited their place for that respective week.
- Sign up process here will be the same as previous seasons
SIGN UP DATES FOR YOUR DIARIES
- Friday 16th August 2024 12pm – Block booking form opens
- Friday 23rd August 2024 12pm – Block booking form closes
- Friday 23rd August 2024 4pm – Weekly sign up for priority places opens
- Monday 26th August 2024 12pm – Weekly sign up for priority places closes
- Monday 26th August 2024 8pm – Regular weekly sign up opens
- Friday 30th August 2024 12pm – Regular weekly sign up closes
For all those that registered for the league, we would like to remind you that Sunday training attendance is one of the criteria for squad selection!
3. INTRODUCTION OF ADDITIONAL TIER AT SUNDAY TRAINING
With our recent announcement of the new venue Bannister Outdoor Sports Centre, we can now accommodate an additional tier. Therefore, starting from September 2024 the tiers have been finalised as follows:
TIER 1 – U5 AND U6 (School Years: Reception and 1)
TIER 2 – U7 AND U8 (School Years: 2 and 3)
TIER 3 – U9 AND U10 (School Years: 4 and 5
TIER 4 – U11 (School Year: 6)
TIER 5 – U12 (School Year: 7)
TIER 6 – U13 AND U14 (School Years: 8 and 9)
TIER 7 – U15 AND U16 (School Years: 10 and 11)
4. LEAGUE TEAM TRIALS / FIRST TRAINING SESSIONS
The first two training session of the new season will be:
1st September 2024
8th September 2024
Format of the sessions will be:
TIERS 1 – 3: REGULAR TRAINING
TIERS 4 – 7: LEAGUE TRIALS (as already communicated previously)
