I am pleased to say the second SJRS squash camp for boys ran successfully. We also launched a girls’ squash camp, a community first, which was very well received.

We were pleasantly surprised with the level of interest, despite many families taking advantage of the half term break to escape the inclement weather no doubt.

In all 30 boys and 11 girls registered across all age categories. It was great to see new participants at the camp, along with boys who had returned having played at last year’s camp or at the 2019 SJRS Festival of Rackets.

I would like to thank all the boys and girls for their enthusiasm and impeccable behaviour which was commented on by the coaches. A thankyou also to all parents for supporting the camp.

A special thanks to the team at RMS for allowing us access to the excellent squash facilities at RMS.

Thankyou also to all those who volunteered during the three days, both ladies and gentlemen. It was great to see members of the SJRS men’s core team facilitate at the camp and give their valuable time, as did team volunteers on the ladies’ side.

Finally, thankyou to our coaches, Kristen Johnson and Patricia O’Keeffe for making the camp fun and leaving almost all players wanting more.
