All sports, but Cricket in particular. Runs in the family. Played for Jaffery Sports Club Mombasa at the highest level from a very young age. Football, player in goal and right back. Badminton, squash, volleyball, table tennis, tennis.

I have had the pleasure of serving my community since an early age serving chai during iftar in our first centre in Hammersmith, as well as being a car park volunteer. And now being in the SJFA team since its inception, where I've had the opportunity to gain my FA Level 1 and 2 badges.

I've played a number of sports including football where I was involved in league teams and entered many inter community tournaments.

Volunteering Experience:

Involved in community volunteering previously in Toronto, and more recently as part of SJ in London. Mohamed has supported SJ in AV and Media at both Salaam Cup and the SJRS Festival of Rackets. Mohamed is currently helping SJ build our cycling brand.

Sports Interest in General:

I have always been interested in sports from a young age. I believe sports in a community bring individuals from different backgrounds together through common interests. Sports is an essential part of integrating our children, youth, adults, and seniors into our community, through building strong foundations. I have played numerous sports through my life, however, over the past few years I have developed a strong passion for cycling, and am looking forward to building a strong cycling presence within the SJ community.

Volunteering roles across the board from Hujjat to SIM. Started as a coach for the SJFA; graduated to a secretariat role before taking on the custodian role SJFA.

Have served and helped various Jamaats in different capacities. A Qualified ASA Swimming Instructor and Examiner, Organised Swimming Galas & Competitions at Provincial & National Levels in Kenya. A Qualified ECB ACO Cricket Umpire for 20 years. Umpired for Hertfordshire & Middlesex Leagues and also various Community Festivals

Swim and Umpire regularly. Walking adventures and can have a go at any racket game including football, volleyball and cricket.

Mahmood Mawjee

Volunteering Experience:

Founder of the SJ fitness initiative in 2016 and 10 thousand steps a day drive in Stanmore. Conducting Sunday boot camps for over 3 years Health and wellbeing awareness seminars across UK International Motivational speaker and leading Fitness activities at various community programs (Supreme Council games in Nairobi, Golf tournament in Mombasa, fundraising in New York, Camp UK, Camp Taha in USA etc) Mahmood has transformed the lives of hundreds of our community members not only in Stanmore but throughout the world.
