We are delighted to launch SJ running and its inaugural challenge. On this page you will find all details about the SJ Running 5K Virtual Challenge that takes place over 6 weekends in July and August.
Overview: The SJ Running 5K Virtual Challenge is designed to encourage everyone to commit themselves to completing 5K over 6 weekends in July and August. There is no right or wrong way to complete the 5K challenge. Whether you want to split it into parts over a Saturday and Sunday, mix up your run with periods of walking or beat your 5K PB, the only thing that matters is you complete a 5K! For those with previous experience of 5Ks, each week we will introduce a new challenge.
Where: Anywhere you want, just find yourself a nice 5K route.
Who: the SJ Running 5K Virtual Challenge is open to everyone. You do not need to be an SJ member to participate
How: Challenges can be undertaken individually or with family and friends. If you choose to run in groups, you must adhere to latest government guidelines on coronavirus. This means no running in groups of more than 6 and maintaining a social distance.
Challenge 1: Community 100K – The challenge is simple. For our community to clock up a total of 100km by each participant completing 5K. There is no right or wrong way to complete the challenge. Whether you want to break up your run in two parts over a Saturday and Sunday, mix up your run with periods of walking or beat your 5K PB, the only thing that matters is you complete a 5K! The challenge will take place on the weekend of 11/12 July.

SJ Running Strava – all runs should be logged on the official home of SJ Running on Strava. You can join SJ Running Strava through here https://www.strava.com/clubs/StanmoreJafferysRunning. For those new to Strava, it is effectively the “social network for athletes”. It is a free digital service (available on both mobile and web) and allows you to capture vital information relating to your run.
