Salaam Alaykum,

As we head into a new season, I wanted to write to you properly for the first time as our new team begins its tenure running Stanmore Jafferys Football Club.

Some of you will have seen a fair bit of activity from us over the last few weeks, not least the MAMT tournament this weekend, where we have teams competing across every age group. Behind all of that, we’ve been working hard throughout the summer, transitioning with the outgoing team, who have been generous with their time and knowledge, and making sure we’re operationally ready for the season ahead. That’s meant building on the coaching structure, getting the right people in the right places, and making sure everything is set for the league.

Please read this whole email as it includes some important information.

Now for the next part that matters most: Training this season

Training will continue to run on Sundays from 2:30pm to 4:00pm at Bannister Outdoor Sports Centre, starting Sunday 6 September.

The sessions will run across all age groups as usual, from U5 & U6 through to U15 & U16s.

A particular word to our U15/U16s we’d really encourage you to sign up, you have a big part to play this season and we want to see you there.

As in previous years, the season is split into four blocks:

BlockDates
Block 1September – October
Block 2November – December
Block 3January – February (break for Ramadan)
Block 4April – May

Each block runs to roughly five to eight sessions. Block 1 runs from Sunday 6 September to Sunday 25 October — 8 sessions in total.

Please note that session dates can be subject to change. If anything moves, we’ll let you know in good time.

Cost and booking

The cost per session will remain £4.50, so Block 1 is £36 for all 8 sessions.

Block 1 booking opens Tuesday 1st September at 8pm and closes Friday 4th September at 4pm.

We’ll send an email with the booking link and guide when it opens.

Spaces are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis, so please book as early as you can to avoid disappointment. Block booking payments, or any part of them, are non-refundable.

Two things to do before booking opens

  1. Check you can log into your account. Please take a minute now to make sure you can sign in so that you don’t have any issues on the day. Click here
  2. Have your child’s passport / birth certificate to hand. As part of the sign-up, you’ll be asked to upload a document to validate your child’s date of birth. You’ll see a section to upload a photo — upload it, press save, and then continue with your block booking.

Why we’re asking: this year we’re required to validate each child’s date of birth. This supports our entries into the Chiltern Church Junior Football League, as well as any future tournaments and fixtures. It’s a one-off process — once it’s done, you won’t need to do it again.

How weekly attendance works

Block booking gives your child priority for their place each week. Each week you’ll need to reconfirm his attendance. Pay as you go, will be available but only where spaces remain after block bookers have confirmed.

We’ll set out the full process in Tuesday’s email.

A word on attendance

Sunday training is where our coaches see the boys week in, week out. Regular attendance genuinely matters — it’s one of the criteria used for league squad selection, trials and tournament teams. If your son is hoping to represent SJFC this season, turning up consistently is the best thing he can do.

What’s coming

Alongside the transition work, our Development & Performance team has been looking hard at how we can improve the quality of our sessions this season. You should start to see some of that come through over the coming weeks and months — so keep your eyes peeled.

We’re really looking forward to getting going.

Mohammad Chagpar

Head, Stanmore Jafferys Football Club
